Updated
Next round's on them.
Beer money apps that actually pay. Some pay you for shopping, gas, and receipts you'd buy anyway. Others pay real money for a few minutes of your time. Stack a handful and your bar tab's covered.
New here? Start with these three.
- Set and forget. Install a cashback extension (Rakuten) and a receipt app (Fetch). You'll earn on purchases you were making anyway.
- Fill dead time. Add one survey site (Prolific is the best-paying for the time) and check it when you're bored.
- Go bigger occasionally. Sign up for a user-testing site. One study can pay more than a month of surveys.

Honest answers
How much can I really make?
Realistically, most people stacking a handful of these apps earn somewhere between a few dollars and a hundred or so a month. Cashback on purchases you'd make anyway and occasional paid research studies are where the bigger numbers come from. Anyone promising rent money from surveys is selling something.
Are these safe?
Every program listed is an established company with a track record of paying users. Still, use a separate email for sign-ups, never pay to join anything, and be thoughtful about which apps you give location or bandwidth access to.
Why do surveys keep disqualifying me?
It's normal. Surveys are looking for specific demographics and screen people out. Fill out your profile questions completely, answer honestly, and favor sites like Prolific that show you the pay and length before you start.
Do I have to pay taxes on this?
In the US, rewards and earnings from these programs are generally taxable income, and some programs send a 1099 once you pass a threshold. Cashback on your own purchases is usually treated as a rebate. Talk to a tax professional if you're earning a meaningful amount.
How does this site make money?
Some links on this page are referral or affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may get a small bonus from the program, and sometimes you get a sign-up bonus too. It never costs you anything, and it doesn't change what we list.
Sites we don't list
We leave these off based on what the r/beermoney community reports, including the subreddit moderators' own list of sites to avoid. The notes below summarize those user reports and opinions. They aren't claims we've verified ourselves, so do your own research.
- Freecash Users report frozen or banned accounts, high-value offers not crediting, and unhelpful support.
- Paidverts, Neobux, MarketGlory Community members describe these as sketchy or pyramid-style, or say they're only worthwhile if you recruit lots of referrals.
- QuickThoughts Users have reported being banned when trying to cash out.
- MindSumo, G2A The subreddit's moderators say these aren't real beer money options.
- Bitcoin faucets & cloud mining Users say these pay fractions of a cent for solving captchas, or don't pay at all.
- AI training & data annotation sites Moderators note some are legit, but new copycats keep appearing, and the work is closer to a job than beer money.

Red flags to watch for anywhere
- A $100+ minimum before you can cash out.
- Paying way too much for simple tasks, like a couple of dollars to read an article.
- Asking you to pay anything to join or "unlock" earnings.
